Elazadas Cocoon is an intimate invitation into the sensorial expansion of the womb. A visual narrative between two parallel bodies woven within the suspension of time. Linked by the umbilical cord of their origin of creation; the intersection of these two bodies unleashes fears inherited by their collective mothers and exposes a metamorphosis of secrets.

Elazadas Cocoon is an excerpt of a full-length site-specific installation that explores performance as an act of reciprocity with the space, the living organisms and the energies in which the process takes place.

Enlazadas Cocoon is an intimate, site-responsive performance by Victoria Mata and Diana Lopez, exploring the sensorial and symbolic space of the womb, the relationship between two parallel bodies, inherited fears, origin, and transformation. The work unfolds through suspension, repetition and a shared physical rhythm, allowing the bodies, space and surrounding atmosphere to continually affect one another.

My role was to develop the visual and atmospheric dimension of the work through video, video installation and lighting. I filmed the performers and created moving-image material that became part of the installation itself, working with light, image, duration and pulse to extend the physical performance into the surrounding space. Sound was created by dssPow.
